let’s find accountability through community and explore everything this beautiful city has to offer, in the ultimate artist date summer plan

let’s answer some questions!

discover everything this experience has to offer

  • the creative summer camp is a four week experience where we will be discovering different artistic locations in Paris in an effort to immerse ourselves in the beauty and art this city has to offer and in that way hone down on our own personal creative styles.

  • I will be curating all four of our outings and coordinating our meeting locations, as well as providing journal prompts for our journalling dates.

All possible museum ticket, transportation, and food and beverages consumed (excluding the first beverage from the commitment fee) will not be included.

You will also be expected to bring journaling and sketching materials.

  • We will be meeting every Sunday morning for four consecutive weeks.

The creative summer camp is organized as a four week experience, and you will be expected to participate throughout the four weeks.

  • Since it is my first time hosting this kind of event, I will be capping the group at 12 people.

  • For this first creative summer camp session, I will only be charging a commitment fee of 25€ for your reservation. As there is limited seating, I am hoping to gather a group of creatives who are truly committed to the four week program. The commitment fee will be used towards the experience and I will be purchasing everyone’s first coffee or beverage of choice at our specialty coffee location throughout the four excursions. Tickets to exhibitions and all supplementary beverages and snacks will be up to each participant.

Who am I, you ask?

My name is Annelies Danielle Schubert, but I go by Anne (pronounced Année, we say it in Spanish) for short, currently pursuing my artistic career in the city of Paris — ooh la la. I’m a multidisciplinary visual artist, currently exploring a heavy season of printmaking in my creative practice.

In addition to having a passion for exploring my creativity through my creative practice I also get immense happiness through teaching and connecting with you through the process of playful creation.

Apart from opening the doors of my own personal atelier and inviting others to join me in learning relief printing through linoleum I also have the pleasure to be a part of the Foundation Program and Fine Arts Program at Paris College of Art where I currently teach two courses focused on traditional printmaking techniques.

I deeply believe in the artist date philosophy, greatly popularized by writer Julia Cameron through her course and book, The Artist’s Way, but I also know and have experienced personal disappointment when failing to implement those for myself when doing them 100% solo as I know we tend to prioritize commitments with others above commitments with ourselves. I devised the creative summer camp in an effort to have solo artist dates through the accountability of community and others who are trying to find the same things I am.

Through these group dates, we will be spending time with ourselves and connecting with the beauty and art the city of Paris vastly offers.

I know we are all curious,
so let’s take a peek at the places we might be visiting

our day at a glance

First Session: July/Aug 2022

Saturday, July 23rd
Saturday, July 30th
Saturday, August 6th
&
Saturday, August 13th

9:45

meeting at exhibition location • 1,5—2,0 hours

The day of the excursion, we will all be meeting at the entrance or agreed upon meeting point. We will spend some time chatting and purchasing tickets if need be and will proceed to spend around 1,5—2,0 hours exploring the exhibition individually.

12:00

heading to a chosen specialty coffee shop to continue with our assigned journalling prompt • 45 minutes

We will spend about 40 minutes digesting the exhibition and our experiences through writing and an assigned journalling prompt. The idea here is to use words and the practice of writing to understand and focus on the stimulus that lingers on within us after intaking so much creative and visual stimuli.

12:45

heading to a chosen park to spend some time sketching and creating • 45 minutes

We will finish our session connecting to our inner artist and creative while creating surrounded by the beauty Parisian parks and the city has to offer.

Through this beautiful and experimental process I hope we each connect with our inner artist and creative while honing in to our own style through the development of our taste and taking in all the beauty + inspiration Paris has to offer

I hope you will join me for this first session of the creative summer camp!
